The Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve makes up 5% of Dubai's landmass, yet few people ever see it. Unlike the open desert where dune buggies roar around, this is a sanctuary. Access is strictly limited to approved operators. Here, the dunes are free of tire tracks, the vegetation is lush (for a desert), and the animals are king. Because they are protected here, they are less shy, allowing us to get excellent sightings without stressing them.
